Teen and young adult years are challenging under any circumstances. Young people wrestle with such issues as :
¨ Sexuality ¨ Drugs and Alcohol ¨ School ¨ Physical and Mental Abuse ¨ Peer Pressure ¨ Pregnancy ¨ Illness and Diseases ¨ Growing Pains ¨ Parental Conflicts ¨ Family Issues and Divorce ¨ And many, many more
Sometimes, all young people need is someone with whom they can talk or from whom they can get honest advise. Parents, of course, can fill that role, but young people often need someone additional, someone removed from their immediate world, in whom they can confide. They need a safe place and a friend where confidence is assured and objective listening as well as honest advise is offered.
At Saint John’s we offer this sort of ministry to the young people of our community. If you know of someone who could use a friend or who might benefit from the ministry we offer, please pass on this information to him or her. You can also call the Vicar to set up an appointment with a mentor or pastor |
