"But if any one has the world's goods and sees his brother in need, yet closes his heart against him, how does God's love abide in him? Little children, let us not love in word or speech but in deed and in truth." 1John 3:17-18 (NRSV)

“VOICe, Inc.

The needs of the poor and unfortunate in our area are great due to the mill closings and depressed textile industry. VOICe, Inc. (Valley Outreach Interfaith Center) is a ministry sponsored by various churches in the Horse Creek Valley community. VOICe, Inc. is physically located at 1469 Augusta Road (Hwy 421), Warrenville, South Carolina. This 2800 square foot facility has two large offices, a great room and warehouse-style storage areas spaces. In addition, it houses an emergency food pantry, clothes closet, and donated items of furniture for victims of burned homes. VOICe, Inc. provides emergency relief services such as utility, rent, transportation, food, clothing and pharmaceutical assistance.

St. John's goal is to assist other churches with the growth of this ministry. As we reach parish status, we would like to continue increasing our outreach budget. VOICe, Inc. is a key component for our outreach strategy and mission. If you are interested in donating items to this ministry, or volunteering your services, please call the church office at (803) 592-5662 or VOICe, Inc. at (803) 663-9955.

Feeding the Hungry

Ingathering of Food and Money for the Needy

On the first Sunday of every month, we take up a special offering of both food and money to meet some of the needs in our community through the various ministries in which Saint John’s is involved.

Saint John’s Food Pantry

We maintain a supply of non-perishable food at Saint John’s in order to distribute as specific needs come to our attention.

“Adopt a Family” During the Holidays

For  Thanksgiving and Christmas, we adopt several families with children so that we can try to meet some of their needs and, as much as possible, so that we can help to make their holidays a blessed time.

Vicar’s Discretionary Fund

Each 4th Sunday of the month is designated for voluntary offerings to the Vicar’s Discretionary Fund. This fund is established to support pastoral ministries throughout the community in which the vicar is involved or associated with on behalf of the people of members of Saint John’s church.
